Save-A-Life
Ivory Coast > Feb '06
The Hanna Project adopted our first project in the northeast corner of Ivory Coast. Ivory Coast has been in a state of civil war since September 02. Because this is one of the most primitive areas of the country, it is suffering the greatest due to lack of medical attention. A meningitis epidemic has been developing.
In February 06 we had a team of 22 people that worked for 6 days in the villages surrounding Doropo. They worked in collaboration with the Baptist Medical Clinic and the government health ministry to vaccinate 12,114 babies, children, women and men. Our team also performed 13 surgeries, hundreds of medical consultation, and extracted teeth.
The project was a success because people like you cared enough to partner. A few went, but many gave. Thousands were given the assurance that they would not die from meningitis. The Hanna Project brought help, hope, and healing to the Ivorian people.
