Save-A-Life III
Ivory Coast > Feb ‘08
The Save-A-Life III team again journeyed to Doropo with our largest team
to-date! The team was divided into four groups... the Eye Clinic, who
examined and prescribed for 550 patients and gave out 1,200
sunglasses... the "Village People", our mobile units who visited 38
villages, administering first aid, teaching hygiene, and giving out
over 4,000 school supply kits, much to the delight of the children...
the Construction Crew, who worked long hours in the heat to refurbish
four school buildings, complete with new desks, and constructing a
concrete basketball court and goals... and the medical / surgical teams,
who remained at the Doropo clinic performing 56 surgeries, more than 300
injections, and consulting and treating many other illnesses.
It was a joy to see ones who had been helped by the previous teams
return to say "Thanks"! With this being our third year to return to Cote
d’Ivoire, our visits are met with much anticipation, on both sides! We
hope to continue to bring Help, Hope, and Healing to these precious
people.
