Kazakhstan > Spring '08
The Hanna Project took a medical and construction team to Kazakhstan in Central Asia this past Spring of 2008.
Some may question why Kazakhstan? We say, "why not!"
The mission is to help, give hope, and provide a way for healing for those in need. The community of Saran, a suburb of Karaganda, was such a place. The project involved building and installation of three strategically placed playgrounds in the city of Saran and surrounding areas.
We also took an Optometry team to perform eye care and provide the community with prescription glasses.
The goal was to help the Kazak people by laying out the stepping stones to unify the population. The focus was placed on the children. What better way to give hope than through the eyes of a child. Due to the efforts of the team and countless hours of work and preparation the goal was achieved.
Mission:
Twelve Men
Many months of planning
Three seemingly unending puzzles
Putting a smile on a child’s face
PRICELESS!
